Frequently Asked Questions

Direct Primary Care (DPC)

What is Direct Primary Care?

Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a membership-based primary care model. Instead of billing insurance, patients pay a flat monthly fee for ongoing access to their physician, longer visits, and personalized care — without copays or surprise bills.

Does DPC replace my health insurance?

No. DPC is not insurance.
We recommend keeping insurance for emergencies, hospitalizations, imaging, and specialty care. DPC covers your day-to-day primary care needs.

What is included in the DPC membership?

Your membership includes:

  • Comprehensive primary care for adults

  • Same- or next-day appointments when available

  • Longer visits focused on prevention and problem-solving

  • Chronic disease management (hypertension, diabetes, cholesterol, etc.)

  • Secure communication for follow-up questions and care coordination

  • Preventive care and routine health maintenance

  • Basic in-office procedures when appropriate

Membership is designed for ongoing care and continuity, not one-time urgent visits.

What is NOT included in the DPC membership?

DPC membership does not include:

  • Emergency or hospital care

  • Specialist visits or procedures

  • Imaging (X-rays, CT, MRI)

  • Hospitalizations or surgeries

  • Wound care services billed through Medicare or insurance

  • Services that must legally be billed to insurance

  • Long-term management of controlled substances or chronic pain conditions

Is there a minimum membership commitment?

Yes. Membership requires a minimum 3-month commitment.

This model is designed for continuity of care, not short-term or one-off use. After the initial period, membership may be canceled with appropriate notice.

(Translation: this keeps the practice sustainable and fair for everyone.)

Do you prescribe controlled substances or manage chronic pain?

No. This practice does not prescribe controlled substances, including opioid pain medications, benzodiazepines, or stimulant medications.

We do not operate as a pain management clinic. Patients requiring long-term controlled medication management or interventional pain care should establish care with an appropriate specialist.

Can I pay cash instead of joining?

We may offer limited cash-pay visits for non-members on a case-by-case basis.
However, the practice is built around the DPC membership model, and priority access is reserved for members.

Pediatric Care

Do you see children?

Yes — pediatric memberships are available for children ages 5–17, but require an enrolled adult parent or guardian.

What pediatric services are included?

Pediatric care is limited to:

  • Acute and chronic medical concerns

  • Non-emergency evaluations

  • Ongoing care within the DPC model

We do not provide:

  • Newborn care

  • Routine well-child visits

  • Immunizations

  • School or sports physicals

Families should maintain a relationship with a pediatrician for those services.

Scheduling & Communication

How do I schedule an appointment?

  • DPC patients: Schedule through the DPC membership process

All requests are reviewed to ensure the appropriate visit type and timing.

How do I contact the doctor?

DPC members have access to secure communication for follow-up questions and care coordination during regular business hours.

The website contact form is for non-clinical inquiries only.

Is this for emergencies?

No.
This practice does not replace emergency services.
For urgent or life-threatening conditions, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

Pricing

What does membership cost?

  • Adults (18–64): $150/month

  • Children (5–17): $75/month (with enrolled adult)

Pricing is transparent, flat-rate, and not tied to insurance billing.
